Originally from South Africa, Marianne moved to the UK in 2002 after completing a BA degree in Fine Art & Art History continuing to develop her passion for ceramics by attending adult education colleges in London. After discovering slip cast ceramics in 2012 she has not looked back since! The main theme of her artwork rotates around the feminine; linking fragility with strength, fertility and creation with fynbos flora. The fynbos biosphere holds a personal connection, as she grew up in the Kleinmond, Overberg area in the Western Cape, South Africa. The resilience yet delicateness of fynbos, unique to this part of the world, encapsulates the feminine presence in her art.

“I only use ceramic materials from reputable UK suppliers and always ensure the ceramic materials I use are safe. Although challenging I am focused on reducing clay waste to a minimum and recycle where possible. My packaging is eco-friendly and I encourage clients to re-use when they received their purchase.”
