Porcelain Bauble with Protea Flowers Angels #05

£30.00
sold out

A handmade porcelain bauble, carefully decorated in royal blue porcelain slip and using sgraffito* technique. The two angels carrying Protea flowers adds a meaningful touch by incorporating elements from my South African culture and nature. The Protea flower is not only visually stunning to me but also holds symbolic and personal importance, representing diversity, courage, and strength.

The bauble has been finished in a waterproof and clear porcelain glaze with gold ribbon for attachment. I recommend making a double knot when attaching to ensure it is secure.

Measurements:

Height: 12cm (approx. 5 inches)

Diameter: 26cm (approx. 10 inches)

*Sgraffito is a technique used in pottery where a layer of slip (liquid clay) is applied to the surface of a clay object, and then a design or image is scratched through the layer to reveal the contrasting color of the clay body beneath. The term "sgraffito" comes from the Italian word "sgraffiare," which means "to scratch."
